Date: Wed, 10 Jun 1998 23:17:50 -0400 From: Evan Haag Subject: Some Character Bios Aries Author/Player: Evan Haag Real Name: Michael Alan Tungsten Powers/Abilities: Aries is (as previously stated) an Ovinoid. He stands about 7 1/2 feet tall, and has a set of Barbary ram's horns. Most of his actual powers stem from a suberbly efficient and tough physiology. He is immune to just about any poison or disease, doesn't feel any discomfort from extreme cold (although hot climates cause him to shed wool), and his skin is tough enough to withstand up to .50 machine gun fire. He also regenerates damage very quickly, and is probably one of the hardest Enigma members to actually kill. He isn't quite a brick, having only about as much strength as the Beast way back when he was an Avenger, but he can potentially do more damage than anyone if he gets the chance. His top running speed is actually around 170 miles per hour (I had to recalculate the character sheet); those who have played Champions should note that he is capable of doing almost 40d6 on a full speed Move Through maneuver! (Yes, Doug, this is fairly proportionate with V&V.) This will cause him to take some damage, but he'll survive. Also, any attacks aimed at his head will be pretty useless, unless they're sonic in nature (those ears ain't just for show, you know!). His last major ability is tied to his reflexes. While his fine manipulation hasn't really increased with his change, his large muscle groups are now amazingly tight, and he can react to situations faster than most people. He can block just about anybody in a hand-to-hand fight (making him a good sparring partner for Gladiatrix or Manstalker). If you want a comparison when writing a fight scene, he's just short of Captain America, defensively. Skills: Aries is one of those annoying Renaissance-men. He has Doctorates in genetics and bio-chemistry, has a Masters in Computer Science, and has a broad academic base of knowledge. In addition, he's played football, is a licensed EMT, has been a stuntman and a pilot, and sculpts to relax. He's also rather wealthy, having designed (and patented) numerous analytical and diagnostic devices. Conditions for Use: Aries is very serious about whatever he's doing. He can't see the superhero gig as just something people do for fun, and his comments will reflect that. (Take note, Firebrand!) Note that he also takes relaxing seriously, so when he's on downtime, he'll be pretty damn normal. He likes football (Go, Bears!), and he likes just hanging out. He'll be pushing hard for everybody else to try to get serious about this, just so he won't have any friends end up dead or something. He is an ovinoid; that is, he is a 7 1/2 foot tall, woolly, sheep-man. He has a large, handsome set of Barbary Ram's horns, and can run at close to 125 miles per hour. Imagine that hitting the villain of your choice. He also has a wide range of physical improvements, to be revealed later. He is altruistic, but is having a hard time dealing with his new form (he used to be human). Try not to use him, at least not until his personality has had more time to congeal.
